2005 V70R M66 for sale. Asking $18K, car is currently in south Florida. Magic blue/Gobi, 90K miles, still drive it so will go up (slowly). I am the second owner, car was sold new through from Stamford Volvo, originally delivered to a professor. Prof took a job at after about a year at Indiana University; I bought when I lived in Indianapolis in early 2017 65K. Have the original window sticker.

Thread of some of the progress: (1) 377Z’s V70R | SwedeSpeed – Volvo Performance Forum

I’m pretty tame and think of the car as stock, though I guess it isn’t strictly speaking, list of what I can think of below. If I missed anything its in the above thread.

Changes:

Delrin front subframe mounts

polyurethane front LCA bushings

IPD front and rear sway bars

Bilstein B6 front, Jag rear shocks (inductors from OE shocks plugged in, no ‘chassis settings service required’ light), car is on stock springs (not lowered)

Home Depot engine bar washer mod

Painted stock pegs in ‘mock diamond cut’ (one is mildly curbed)

Stainless 3” Down pipe, middle resonator replaced with a 3” stainless pipe

New in the last year:

Continental timing belt, OE water pump, and serpentine belt

Front pads and rotors (OE/pagid)

OE/Luk DM flywheel

OE/Luk clutch, pressureplate

OE slave cylinder

All external transmission lip seals (output shaft and axle seals)

Quaife limited slip differential, new diff carrier bearings and races (SKF)

Trans filled with redline 80W-90 synth MT fluid (its what FCP carried)

3” DP (custom), replaced resonator with 3” pipe, stock rear exhaust pipes and muffler

Momo shift nob (I was not a fan of the stock one, but I still have it)

Rebuilt turbo when engine was out for clutch, 11 blade drop in compressor wheel

Completely rebuilt and resealed angle gear, all new bearings (SKF), filled with Amsoil 80W-90, new collar gear, and used epoxy between AG and collar gear (a la StealthyS60R). Lubed trans side of collar gear and differential splines with 65% molybdenum disulfide grease

New RMS when doing the clutch

Full PS flush when doing clutch

Timing belt and new water pump a few months ago

Fog lights are amber LED cubes (stock were gone when I got the car)

Older repairs—all 5 engine mounts changed, top and bottom are poly, the front, rear, and side are OE. Top poly seems to be coming apart but still drives fine.

The car drives excellent, IMO Bilstein damping is perfect; the IPD bars keep it flat, and the Delrin & poly bushings make the car responsive and precise with no drawbacks. Other than the 11 blade drop in wheel, the engine is completely stock, stock IC, stock tune. Plans were limited to a FMIC and a tune.

Current needs: rear pads and rotors, I have the rotors but seem to have lost the pads. I’m ordering pads and will change prior to sale. Right mirror cover in primer, will paint/clear prior to sale. Have not changed haldex oil/filter or rear diff yet. I had one of the shoulder screws that hold the blue engine covers seize, and the coil cover got mangled before I got it off. Replaced that screw, and decided to get a black cover and paint it since it was basically half the price. Unfortunately I went too light on the shade of blue, but left it as it doesn’t really bother me.

I get an intermittent ‘anti-skid service’ light and check engine due to MAF and O2 sensor codes since putting back together after the clutch job. I need to look over connections and wires as I probably bumped or pinched something related to chassis code; not sure whats up with the MAF. Will scan with VIDA/DICE when able (presuming I can get it to run on linux…. )

It has a few door dings that should all come out with PDR, and a few scratches (one on the hood, two by the fuel door, and sides of rear bumper cover). I never bothered to get this stuff fixed since I drive my stuff, figured I’d blend those areas myself one day and wasn’t planning on selling, and still may not as I’m not in a hurry nor inclined to move much on price. Reason its listed is, after 6 months of 4 kids I’m realizing it may be a good idea to line up a backup vehicle that can seat 6+, selling this would offset that expense. Our only current car that fits that need is a 124K mile ’07 V8 XC90. Its in great shape and runs well, plan is to at least double that mileage but I’d like the peace of mind of having ‘backup’ 6+ passenger vehicle to use, should the XC90 have an issue that takes me longer to fix (as I take my time especially on bigger jobs). Considered adding XC70 jumpseats but IMO they are just not practical (heck the XC90 is barely big enough).
