Lynk & Co will be debuting its latest model, the Z20, with the company set to unveil the all-electric compact SUV not just in China but also in Milan. Italy later today. An European launch is set to follow, Car News China reports, indicating that the second offering in the maker’s Z-series will be a global offering. In China, the Z20 will make its way to the Guangzhou Auto Show next month.
Ahead of its official arrival, a couple of teaser images of the vehicle have been released. Underpinned by the same Geely SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform used on the Zeekr X, Volvo EX30 and smart #1, the Z20 doesn’t veer very far from the trio in terms of its styling cues.
Design highlights on the coupe-styled crossover include a sloping roof line and headlights integrated into the front bumper and H-shaped LED daytime running lights. At the back, a duck tail-styled rear spoiler integrates a unique tail light array that extends horizontally across the rear and which features two vertical light bars to offer it a distinct flourish.
Reported dimensions are a 4,460 mm length, 1,845 mm width and 1,573 mm height, with a 2,755 mm-long wheelbase, making it slightly bigger than the Zeekr X. A number of wheel design options, ranging from 18- to 19-inches, will be available for the car, which will be equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery.
Powertrain specs haven’t been officially released, but data from China’s ministry of industry and information technology indicates that the Z20 will be equipped with a motor developing 334 hp (250 kW), placing its output in between that offered on smart/Zeekr/Volvo variants. Given the uniformity seen on the trio, the final configurations shouldn’t veer far from the family tree.
No view of the interior as yet, but that will come later today. According to the report, expected novelties are a flat-bottom steering wheel, dual wireless phone charging pads and a floating entertainment screen, as intimated from spy shots.
