With production of the Toyota GR Supra set to end, the United States is getting swansong variant to celebrate the two-door sports car that debuted in 2019 to mixed reactions. Called the GR Supra MkV Final Edition, the new offering is part of the model’s updated line-up for the 2026 model year. According to the automaker, production of the fifth-generation model for the US will end in the spring of next year.
Compared to the A90 Final Edition offered in Japan, the MkV Final Edition looks relatively tame. However, there are a number of welcomed changes that aim to elevate the driving experience, starting with refined differential control and exclusive control maps to reduce understeer through turns.
Larger Brembo brakes have also been fitted, along with modifications to the suspension and chassis. These include a revised camber angle for all four wheels for better cornering grip and stability, while the electronically controlled dampers have been revised with new programming to bring about additional vehicle stability.
Rounding off the handling changes are a stronger front stabiliser bar at the front to cut down on body roll, a stronger under-body brace as well as strengthened rubber bushings and mounts for the front control arms and rear sub-frame. The 3.0 litre turbocharged inline-six petrol engine is unchanged and continues to deliver 387 PS (382 hp) and 499 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission.
As for the aesthetic tweaks, the MkV Final Edition comes with 19-inch matte black wheels as well as a ducktail rear spoiler and mirror caps made from glossy carbon-fibre. There are some aerodynamic modifications too, including front wheel arch flaps and higher tyre spats to optimise aero balance and downforce.
If that isn’t enough, buyers can option the MkV Final Edition with a GT4 style pack inspired by the GR Supra GT4 EVO2 race car. Doing so provides access to two new exclusive matte colours called Burnout and Undercover (pictured here), along with exterior graphics, red mirror caps and a matte finish for the ducktail and ‘Supra’ emblem.
Finally, the cabin gets leather-trimmed seats that are upholstered in Alcantara and embroidered with the GR logo. Red accents, including stitching, can be found on areas like the gear shift knob, with the hue also used for the seatbelts. Other goodies include a GR cupholder cover and a camo car cover.
