The quickest vehicle Cadillac has ever built for public sale will be an all-electric midsize family SUV. The 2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V will get from 0-60 mph in just 3.3 seconds, the company says.
It won’t be some track-only toy, either. With 285 miles of range and up to 60.8 cubic feet of cargo space, it’s a practical everyday vehicle with a high-performance side.
Cadillac says pricing will start at $79,990, including destination freight charge, though we’ve seen prices change when announced this early. That price, notably, qualifies it for the federal government’s $7,500 EV tax rebate. Ten dollars higher would keep it from qualifying.
About V-Series Cars
Now more than 20 years old, Cadillac’s V division builds high-performance versions of Cadillac’s regular cars. For instance, the brand’s best-selling Escalade is a luxurious full-size SUV with cavernous cargo space and a cosseting cabin filled with the latest technology. The Escalade-V is also that, but with a burbling and snarling supercharged V8 and 4.4-second 0-60 mph time, like an NFL lineman beating the wide receivers in sprints.
The Lyriq-V will be the division’s first electric product. If you know electric cars, you know how exciting that prospect is. Internal combustion engines build up more energy as they accelerate – the fabled torque curve. Electric motors offer 100% of their torque at all times, with no need for a curve. If a gas-powered car is an oven, an EV is a microwave.
About the Lyriq-V
The Lyriq-V will boast 615 horsepower, Cadillac says — 100 more than any current Lyriq. That burst of acceleration may be limited to a special mode. In a press release, Cadillac promises a “Velocity Max” setting, which will likely marshal more power for a sudden burst to help it post impressive numbers in articles like this.
Two motors mean standard all-wheel drive (AWD).
The high-performance features won’t be limited to straight-line speed. “Standard Continuous Damping Control, specifically calibrated for LYRIQ-V, combined with a lowered multi-link suspension and a quicker steering ratio,” should also make it corner with more athletic grace. High-performance Brembo brakes will be standard.
Dave Stutzman, Lyriq-V chief engineer, promises a “rigid body structure and lower center of gravity” to keep it tighter and flatter in corners.
Most V cars include a “V-mode” that unlocks all that performance. In the Lyriq-V, Cadillac says, it will also bring on a “unique sound experience.”
You’ll spot one thanks to V badges, a lower stance, a unique front fascia, and available carbon fiber accents.
Inside, “a panoramic fixed glass roof, a 23 speaker AKG Studio Audio System with Dolby Atmos, and a stunning 33-inch-diagonal advanced LED display” will all be standard. The steering wheel will have a V button to engage V mode. And Cadillac promises a dual-pane head-up display – the first we’ve seen.
