Infiniti’s flagship SUV just got a little moodier. The new 2026 QX80 Sport trim arrives with a darker, more aggressive look but sticks with the same performance underneath. It’s essentially a high-end appearance package with a sharp design twist and a hefty price bump — but no extra muscle.

Replacing the outgoing Sensory trim, the new QX80 Sport sits high in the model lineup, just under the top-tier Autograph. It introduces a more sinister aesthetic to the full-size luxury SUV, complete with a revamped front grille that features straighter vanes and a redesigned bumper wearing a subtle splitter. All exterior trim, from the mirror caps to the roof rails and Infiniti badging, is now finished in black. It rolls on exclusive 22-inch black six-spoke wheels that complete the blackout effect.

Color options for the body include Mineral Black, Radiant White, Grand Blue, and Dynamic Metal. A contrasting Black Obsidian roof is available for all colors except Mineral Black, adding a touch of dual-tone flair that helps the Sport trim stand apart.

Inside, the QX80 Sport leans into the premium vibe with a mix of Dusk Blue and black leather, complete with diamond-pattern perforations on the seats. Dark chrome trim and open-pore wood lend an upscale, slightly edgy tone to the cabin. Massaging front seats come standard, along with a premium 24-speaker Klipsch audio system, a head-up display, electronic air suspension, a camera-based rearview mirror, and 64-color ambient lighting — all helping to justify the model’s six-figure price tag.

Where the QX80 Sport doesn’t push forward is performance. Despite the “Sport” name, it uses the same twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 found in other trims, delivering 450 horsepower through a nine-speed automatic transmission. Unlike base models, which come standard with rear-wheel drive, the Sport is all-wheel-drive only. It’s not sluggish — the AWD QX80 hits 60 mph in about 6.1 seconds according to previous testing — but don’t expect a more athletic suspension or sharper handling to match the darker look.

For 2026, Infiniti keeps the rest of the lineup intact with Pure, Luxe, and Autograph trims still available. The Sensory trim quietly exits, making way for this newly styled Sport variant. Pricing starts at $85,940 for the base model and climbs steeply to $104,140 for the Sport.

So while the QX80 Sport brings a fresh sense of attitude and a loaded feature list, those expecting performance upgrades to match its name might be left wanting. Still, for buyers seeking style, luxury, and presence without the need for added speed, the Sport could be just the right statement.
