The electric Zeekr 7X – a rival to the Tesla Model Y and BYD Sealion 7 – is likely to be offered in three variants when it launches in Australia later this year.
The first Australian details of the upcoming 2025 Zeekr 7X electric family SUV have leaked online ahead of its launch later this year.
Dealer documents posted to the Zeekr Australia Facebook group reveal the 7X will be offered in three variants: Rear-Wheel Drive (standard range), Rear-Wheel Drive Long Range, and All-Wheel Drive.
The names of these variants are yet to be confirmed by Zeekr, with the documentation also referring to them as ‘Level 1’, ‘Level 2’ and ‘Level 3’.

Dealers have reportedly indicated the 7X Rear-Wheel Drive could start from around $65,000 to $70,000 before on-road costs, $75,000 for the Rear-Wheel Drive Long Range, and $80,000 to $85,000 for the All-Wheel Drive – $6000 to $10,000 more than an equivalent Tesla Model Y.
The rear-wheel drive grades will feature a 310kW/440Nm single electric motor, with the standard range variant equipped with a 75kWh lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack for a 480-kilometre driving range rating on the European WLTP lab-test standard.
The Rear-Wheel Drive Long Range will move to a larger 100kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) lithium-ion battery pack for a 615km WLTP driving range rating, with the All-Wheel Drive also using the same battery.

However, the All-Wheel Drive will add a front electric motor for a 475kW/710Nm combined output to enable a claimed 0-100km/h acceleration time of 3.8 seconds, and a reduced 543km WLTP driving range rating.
A six-second 0-100km/h acceleration time is claimed for both rear-wheel-drive grades.
Standard equipment in the standard-range Zeekr 7X Rear-Wheel Drive will include 19-inch alloy wheels, a 16-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 13-inch digital instrument cluster, dual 50-watt wireless phone chargers, a Tesla-style ‘sentry’ mode, ambient lighting, and heated front and rear seats.

The Rear-Wheel Drive Long Range will add a 36.2-inch head-up display, a 21-speaker ‘Zeekr Sound Pro’ audio system, a power-adjustable steering wheel column, ventilated and massaging front seats, and rear privacy glass.
Customers stepping up to the top-of-the-range All-Wheel Drive will receive 21-inch alloy wheels, orange-painted brake calipers, power rear side window sunshades, and ‘intelligent’ automatic doors, the leaked documents reveal.
The All-Wheel Drive is expected to offer black nappa leather upholstery as standard, and black/grey or white colours as options.

Active air suspension – available as an option in Europe – is not listed in the standard equipment of any 7X variant in Australia, while the ‘Stargate’ full-width front “smart light curtain” is not expected locally.
Zeekr is one of many brands from Chinese car giant Geely, which also owns Volvo and Polestar. It launched in Australia in 2024 with its X small SUV and 009 people mover.
The Zeekr X now starts from $49,900 after a $7000 price cut in April, months after the first examples arrived in Australia.

Revealed in mid-2024, the Zeekr 7X is a rival to the Tesla Model Y, BYD Sealion 7 and other mid-size electric SUVs currently available in Australia.
All 7X variants will support ultra-rapid direct-current (DC) fast-charging through an 800-volt architecture.
This is likely to enable a 360kW maximum charge limit for Australia to allow for a 10 to 80 per cent charge in a claimed 13 minutes in ideal conditions for the standard-range RWD, and 16 minutes for the others.

Measuring 4787mm long, 2100mm wide and 1650mm tall with a 2900mm wheelbase, the 7X is 5mm shorter, 29mm narrower and 26mm taller than a 2025 Model Y with a 10mm-longer wheelbase.
