Volvo’s global best-seller has been given a mild update to keep it fresh, with a bigger screen and tweaked styling – plus price rises of up to $1900.

  • 2025 Volvo XC60 pricing and specifications
  • Mild update with styling changes, larger touchscreen
  • Plus and Ultra variants across B5 petrol and T8 plug-in hybrid choices
  • Priced from $74,990 before on-road costs

The 2025 Volvo XC60 is due in Australian showrooms imminently with tweaked styling, a larger touchscreen, and price rises of up to $1900.

The second facelift for the XC60 since the current model launched in 2018 introduces minor tweaks – compared to the last update in 2021 – to bring Volvo’s mid-size SUV in line with newer models in the range.

Prices have risen by between $600 and $1900, depending on model, with the range now starting from $74,990 plus on-road costs – still $11,000 cheaper than the least expensive BMW X3.

Exterior changes include a new front grille pattern akin to the larger, also recently-updated XC90, new alloy wheel designs, darkened tail-light clusters, and three new paint colours: Forest Lake, Aurora Silver and Mulberry Red.

Inside, the 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreen has been enlarged to 11.2 inches, with 21 per cent higher pixel density, a doubling of response times, and 10 times quicker graphics generation.

It runs updated Android Automotive-based software with a new menu structure and appearance. It will roll out to outgoing, MY22-on XC60 models later this year through an over-the-air update.

Other interior tweaks include new interior inlays, a newly-added quilted Nordico fabric seat upholstery option, an “improved” wireless phone charger, and a revised centre console layout.

There have not been any mechanical changes under the skin to the XC60, which retains a choice of petrol-only and petrol-electric plug-in hybrid (PHEV) power options.

B5 variants use a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine developing 183kW and 350Nm, matched with an eight-speed auto, all-wheel drive, and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system to trim fuel use.

The PHEV combines a 233kW/400Nm 2.0-litre engine with a 107kW/309Nm electric motor for a theoretical 340kW combined, for 0-100km/h acceleration in a claimed 4.8 seconds.

Volvo claims up to 89km of electric-only driving range from the 18.8kWh battery pack.

The 2025 Volvo XC60 is on sale now, likely as a Model Year 2026 vehicle.
