Suzuki’s new compact SUV starts from less than $30,000, and looks to take the fight to the MG ZS, Chery Tiggo 4 and Hyundai Venue.
- 2025 Suzuki Fronx pricing and specifications
- City SUV to challenge pint-sized Chinese, Indian rivals
- Mild-hybrid power in a single model grade with 360-degree camera, head-up display
- Priced from $28,990 before on-road costs
The 2025 Suzuki Fronx compact SUV has arrived in Australia, priced from $28,990 before on-road costs.
The Indian-built Fronx starts more expensive than the Chery Tiggo 4 ($23,990 drive-away) and MG ZS ($25,990 drive-away) small SUVs, but will be offered in a single grade with features only fitted to more expensive versions of its rivals.
Smaller than the Suzuki Vitara small SUV, but larger than the defunct Ignis city high-riding hatch, the Fronx measures 3995mm long – in line with a Mahindra XUV 3XO – and is derived from the Baleno hatch axed in Australia in late 2021.
There is only one variant of the Suzuki Fronx for the Australian market, and Drive understands Suzuki Australia will offer a drive-away deal at launch of less than $30,000.
The Australian-market Fronx is powered by a 76kW/137Nm 1.5-litre non-turbo four-cylinder petrol engine, running through a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
While it is badged as a hybrid, it is only a 12-volt ‘mild hybrid’, meaning its electric motor can only assist the petrol engine, rather than drive the wheels on battery power alone.
Still, the Fronx’s small footprint allows Suzuki to claim fuel consumption of 4.9 litres per 100 kilometres – splitting the Chery Tiggo 4 Hybrid (5.4L/100km) and MG ZS Hybrid+ (4.7L/100km), which can drive on electric power alone.
Standard equipment in the Fronx includes a 360-degree camera, synthetic leather-look interior trim, a 9.0-inch infotainment display, and a head-up display.
The 2025 Suzuki Fronx will arrive in dealerships in Australia in September 2025.
