The redesigned 2025 Nissan Armada full-size SUV costs $1,185 more than the old 2024 model, but it comes with a new body, new frame, new engine, roomier cabin, and modern features. The 8-seat SUV now costs $58,530, including a $2,010 destination fee, Nissan announced Monday.
Nissan positions the new Armada as the most budget-friendly full-size SUV, costing at least $2,000 less than the 2025 Chevy Tahoe, and nearly $6,000 less than the 2025 Toyota Sequoia.
Nissan doesn’t skimp on the features, either, on the 2025 Armada. The base SV model rolls on 18-inch alloy wheels and comes with black running boards and roof rails that accentuate its boxy retromod design that calls to mind the global Nissan Patrol. Inside, synthetic leather seating covers the eight seats, and power front seats face a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster running beside a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity. Every Armada comes with adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitors.
Options such as massaging front seats, quilted leather upholstery, and an air suspension with adaptive dampers stretch into the luxury space occupied by the 2025 Infiniti QX80 that starts at $85,000, which is more than the Armada’s top Platinum Reserve 4×4.
Like that luxury take, every Armada forgoes the old 400-hp V-8 for a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 that generates 425 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. A 9-speed automatic transmission routes power to the rear wheels, but four-wheel drive with a 2-speed transfer case for lugging around in a low gear costs $3,000 on all but the new Pro-4X, where it is standard. Fret not about the lack of the V-8: towing capacity remains the same at 8,500 pounds, and a hitch and harness come standard.
2025 Nissan Armada Pro-4X
The Armada retains its body-on-frame construction, even though Nissan has discontinued the Titan full-size pickup truck. The new chassis promises greater lateral stiffness and more twisting rigidity, and along with a front and rear independent suspension, it should ride more like a modern SUV than a traditional truck. An acoustic laminated front windshield should muffle out the outside world, as well.
The new frame and larger footprint also open up more space inside for eight passengers in all three rows.
The Armada SL now costs $64,980, and it upgrades to heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, Alexa pairing, a wireless smartphone charger, a surround-view camera system, one-press second-row seats, power folding third-row seats, a Klipsch 12-speaker sound system, and Nissan’s limited hands-free driving system. It has 20-inch wheels.
The 2025 Armada Platinum costs $71,940 and comes with a 14.3-inch touchscreen, ambient lighting, heated side mirrors, a power tailgate, quilted leather upholstery, cooled front seats, and second-row captain’s chairs to bring the total capacity to seven passengers.
The new Armada Pro-4X costs $75,750 and adds more off-road ability with underbody skid plates, an electronic locking rear differential, an electronic air suspension with adaptive dampers, better approach angles, front tow hooks, and 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. It’s equipped like the SL.
The $79,000 Platinum Reserve tops the lineup and has massaging seats and heated captain’s chairs; it rides on 22-inch wheels.
Made in Japan, the 2025 Armada goes on sale in December.
