2025 Isuzu N Series sharpens aim at dual-cab market

Ute buyers and commercial fleet operators are on Isuzu Trucks’ radar as it launches the newest generation of its N Series light-duty truck.

Isuzu Trucks is set on taking a bite out of Australia’s dual-cab market with the newest generation of its N Series light-duty trucks.

The Isuzu Trucks N Series – which can be driven on a normal car licence – has been revamped for 2025 and features a range of new technology upgrades, as well as revised interior and exterior styling that’s typically found in other passenger cars and dual-cab utes.

Speaking at a media presentation, Andrew Harbison, Isuzu Australia Limited’s Director and Chief Operating Officer, said the dual-cab market has always been a key demographic for the brand.

“That’s [dual-cab] a market that we’ve been targeting for some time now. The car driver’s licence market makes up about 25 per cent of our total sales,” Harbison told media, including Drive.

While sister-brand, Isuzu Ute, also occupies Australia’s automotive market, the executive explained the brand aims to “capture about one per cent” of the total dual-cab sales pie, with the truck arm of the Japanese brand looking to reach 2000 sales annually.

Drive understands that Isuzu Trucks is looking to target tradies and fleet operators in the dual-cab market who might be looking to purchase a workhorse that offers more versatility and a larger payload than a traditional pick-up.

“We see a massive opportunity in moving people from those lifestyle-type vehicles into a true light-duty truck that gives them the flexibility of being able to carry the type of payloads that they’re looking for,” Harbison explained.

The executive’s targets aren’t far from reach, with Isuzu Trucks accruing 1984 sales of its light-duty N Series models between April 2024 and April 2025.

Drive understands the latest generation of the Isuzu Trucks N Series will be available at Australian showrooms from November 2025, though pricing is yet to be confirmed.

The 2025 Isuzu Trucks N Series range is available in 58 variants, of which 28 feature the 4500kg GVM limit that comes with a normal car licence in Australia.

Among the new changes is the introduction of seven new safety suites, such as attention alert, intersection warning, and front cross-traffic alerts on top of Isuzu’s advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) fitted standard.

Additionally, the Japanese car maker has included a new “car-like” interior that features a new 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, automatic climate control, and overhead storage.
