Review

Consumer Guide has been afforded by Infiniti a second look at the brand’s thoroughly updated 2025 QX80 Premium Large SUV, and we remain impressed. This hasn’t always been the case. We found the previous-generation QX80 mechanically crude, profoundly inefficient, and wanting for interior space. That all changed for 2025.

The new turbocharged V6 serves up more power than the outgoing V8, and it uses less gasoline. The new drivetrain is also very refined, though is prone to some unwanted surging in low-speed driving. Not all of our testers made note of the phenomenon, but we suggest taking the QX80 for an extended test drive, if the truck is on your short list. You can read our complete review of the 2025 QX80 Autograph here.

Note, our most-recent test drive involved more city driving, and with it an expected drop in observed fuel economy. Still, in this class, 16 mpg is perfectly respectable, especially given the QX80’s potent V6.
