Genesis has repositioned the Electrified G80 sedan, with a new long-wheelbase model, providing limo-like accommodation and a full suite of upgraded luxury features.

  • 2025 Genesis Electrified G80 pricing and specifications
  • LWB model features 130mm longer wheelbase
  • Driving range increased to 570km (WLTP)
  • Price from $155,000 before on-road costs

South Korean luxury brand Genesis has repositioned the electrified G80 sedan as a more limousine-like flagship for the brand.

A new long-wheelbase model, previously unavailable in Australia, takes the place of the previous standard wheelbase model, coupled with a higher-capacity battery and rated for up to 570km of driving range.

Pricing for the 2025 Genesis Electrified G80 Signature starts from $155,000 plus on-road costs, a $9942 increase over the previous version.

To offset the rise, battery capacity has increased from 87.2kWh to 94.5kWh, pushing the driving range rating from 520km to 570km based on WLTP testing. Genesis claims a 10-80 per cent charge on a 350kW charger can be completed in 25 minutes.

The dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain retains the same 272kW/700Nm system outputs (136kW/350Nm per motor). Genesis claims a 0-100km/h sprint time of 5.1 seconds.

Other new features for the 2025 model include a wheelbase extended by 130mm, rear wheel steering, passenger seat memory (to go with existing driver seat memory), upgraded power-adjustable rear seats, powered door and rear window sunshades, and self-closing rear doors.

A new 27-inch combined instrument and infotainment display, 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, active noise cancellation, and upgraded driver assist tech with automated lane change and navigation-based smart cruise control have also been added.

External changes to the Electrified G80 see the overall length extended to 5135mm, a 130mm increase, while overall height increases by 5mm to 1480mm. Width is unchanged at 1925mm.

The extended dimensions result in 83mm of additional rear seat leg room and an extra 20mm of rear seat head room.

Seating in the Genesis Electrified G80 includes seats with ErgoComfort orthopedic certification in both the front and rear outboard positions, heated and ventilated front and rear seats, and 18-way front/16-way rear power-adjustable seats.

Genesis has also added features, including a UV-C sanitising centre console and powered easy-open/close rear doors.

The new 27-inch infotainment display features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Genesis Connected Services, and access to over-the-air updates.

The previous 20-speaker Lexicon audio system has been replaced by a 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen system.

Driver assist changes see the Hyundai Group’s Highway Driving Assist 2 technology added with automatic lane change functionality, more advanced collision avoidance and lane follow assist capabilities, and navigation-based smart cruise control that can automatically adjust vehicle speed based on speed limit info saved in the navigation system.

Chassis changes focus on improvements to noise, vibration, and harshness, while rear-wheel steering has been added to improve maneuverability.

External styling changes include revised front and rear bumpers with additional chrome trim, a new front grille with a bright chrome finish (in place of dark chrome), new matrix LED headlights, 19-inch aero alloy wheels, and a new front badge with a guilloché diamond pattern insert.
