Sporty GLH model due for 2026.

Dodge recently announced a price cut for its entry-level SUV. The 2025 Hornet GT, which is the base trim level, now starts at $31,590, a reduction of $1,745. Note this figure includes a manufacturer destination fee of $1,595.
2025 Dodge Hornet Price Drop, High-Performance GLH on Way

Dodge-parent Stellantis is hoping this move will entice budget-conscious buyers who are looking for an SUV that provides a more engaging driving experience than most of its competitors. Since its debut as a 2023 model, Hornet has been a non-starter in the market, moving less than 21,000 units in calendar 2024. For comparison, Honda sold more than seven times as many HR-Vs during the same period.

Trim Levels
The Hornet isn’t without its charms, however. The GT and GT Plus models team all-wheel drive with a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that outputs an impressive 268 horsepower and 298 pound-feet of torque, making it far and away the most powerful vehicle in its class. The uplevel Hornet R/T and R/T Plus are plug-in hybrids that add a battery-powered electric motor to increase output to 288 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque while offering up to a claimed 32 miles of all-electric driving.
Ride and Handling
Based on our reviews, we found the GT/GT Plus to be more satisfying, with smoother power delivery and throttle response. Handling is sporty and predictable; we also appreciated Hornet’s intuitive infotainment system. On the downside, this vehicle rides quite firmly. There’s also not as much space for people and cargo compared to most rivals.
High-Performance GLH

In bigger news, Dodge has confirmed an even more performance-minded Hornet GLH has been given the green light for production. GLH, short for “Go Like Hell” is an homage to the Dodge Omni GLH, which was a sporty subcompact hatchback from the 1980s designed with help from legendary racecar driver and entrepreneur Carroll Shelby. Little is known about exactly what changes Dodge is making to create the Hornet GLH, only that manufacturing should begin sometime later in 2025, meaning it will likely be sold as a 2026 model.
Prices
Pricing for the rest of the 2025 Dodge Hornet lineup is unchanged, with the GT Plus, R/T, and R/T Plus starting at $36,885, $43,240, and $45,585 including destination, respectively.
CG Says
Dodge cutting the 2025 Hornet GT’s price for 2025 is the right move. It’s a shame the company didn’t see fit to do the same for more than just the base GT grade. We can’t say how much this might move the needle considering that, as of this writing, there are lots of 2024 Hornets remaining on dealer lots. Most are available with discounts of $7,000 to more than $12,000 off MSRP. At less than $30,000, a Hornet GT or GT Plus is a compelling option for buyers who want some “sport” in their SUV. We’re also intrigued at what Dodge has planned for the Hornet GLH. We expect it to have even more performance versus the R/T, though pricing will almost certainly be higher, which would limit its appeal.
