In the compact luxury SUV market, consumers have plenty of options. Few vehicles match up as evenly as the 2025 Buick Envision and 2025 Lincoln Corsair.
The Envision, built in China, offers a near-luxury experience at a price comparable to many well-equipped mainstream brands. Conversely, the Corsair is a luxury vehicle that is slightly more expensive than the Envision. These two vehicles are on the more affordable side of premium SUVs. To find out how much you get for your dollar, let’s look at these two 5-passenger SUVs.
2025 Buick Envision

Sitting right on the luxury segment line, the Buick Envision sees no major updates for 2025. The Envision did get an exterior facelift for 2024, with the front end seeing most of the updates. Like the Corsair, the Envision features comfortable space for five passengers. It’s built to be a comfortable ride with great technology, which aligns the SUV with the rest of the Buick lineup.
Powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder, the Envision puts out 228 horsepower, and all-wheel drive (AWD) is standard. It comes with plenty of nice touches, such as wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and an available hands-free tailgate. A slew of advanced driver safety technology is available in the mid and upper trim levels. The Envision comes in three trim levels — Preferred, Sport Touring, and Avenir.
Buick Envision Highlights
Fuel efficiency: The Envision’s turbocharged 2.0-liter powerplant uses a 9-speed automatic transmission to achieve 22 mpg city/28 mpg highway/25 mpg combined. The Corsair gets 22/30/25 mpg with front-wheel drive (FWD) and 21/28/24 mpg with AWD. Both SUVs run on regular gas. The Corsair’s secret weapon is a plug-in hybrid powertrain fitted in the top-of-the-line Grand Touring trim, starting at over $54,000.
Elegant interior: The first thing you’ll notice in Envision’s new interior is a digital instrument cluster mounted flush with an expansive infotainment touchscreen. It stretches 30 inches diagonally and wouldn’t look out of place in a BMW, Mercedes-Benz, or Genesis product. Upper trims have niceties like perforated leather upholstery, massaging front seats, and a digital rearview camera.
Some luxury: Available as an option in the Avenir trim, massaging front seats knead their occupants into full-on luxury vehicle territory. These seats, covered in perforated leather, also have heating and ventilation.

2025 Lincoln Corsair

The Corsair is Lincoln’s entry point vehicle, although there are three trim levels in which the SUV is available: Premier, Reserve, and Grand Touring. The Corsair Grand Touring is a plug-in hybrid with a standard 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with an electric motor providing 28 miles of all-electric driving. The combination puts out 266 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid version of the Corsair comes with AWD standard. The Premier and Reserve get 250-hp turbocharged 4-cylinders with standard FWD and AWD as an option.
The SUV’s stunning interior surpasses its handsome exterior styling. With an impressive mix of high-end materials, the Corsair’s cabin evokes memories of the comfortable, opulent luxury interiors of the past without being precisely that. The seats are supple but not spongy, and the technology layout within the space is smart.
Lincoln Corsair Highlights
Co-Pilot360: A bundle of safety and driver-aid technologies, including forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking. Other features are blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure alert, and high-beam assist. Rear-park assist is standard, too.
Stunning sound: You can tailor the 14-speaker Revel audio system to your listening preferences. Selecting Traditional Stereo, Audience (concert hall), or On Stage (surround sound) delivers utterly different listening experiences.
BlueCruise: The BlueCruise hands-free driving system is optional on the Lincoln Corsair. It allows for eyes-on-the-road, hands-off-the-wheel driving on highways mapped by Lincoln. GM has the comparable Super Cruise system, but it is unavailable on the Buick Envision.

Conclusion
With a spacious cabin, good looks, and modern technology, the Envision is a borderline luxury vehicle for a less-than-luxury price. However, if you want a luxury vehicle, a “near-luxury” model may not satisfy that want. The Corsair is a compact luxury SUV with a potent powertrain and a cabin filled with soft-touch, high-end finishes, and it offers slightly more space inside. It also has the option of hands-free driving. The Buick Envision is arguably a better value because of its lower price tag and standard AWD. But if you want a luxury ride, the Corsair is the choice.
