The BMW 2-series Gran Coupe enters 2025 with a new look and a smidgen more power. At launch, the 2-series is only the all-wheel-drive 228 xDrive, and M235 xDrive trims will be available, with the front-wheel-drive 228 sDrive arriving midyear.
The Gran Coupe has been visually refreshed, and the now-standard M Sport appearance package brings a more muscular façade.
The two 2.0-liter turbocharged powertrain options have more power: 241 horsepower for the lower trim engine and 312 horsepower for the upper trim engine, an improvement of 13 and 11 horsepower, respectively.
- 228 xDrive will reach 60 mph from a stop in 5.8 seconds
- M35 xDrive is capable of 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds.
A host of new standard interior, tech, and safety features—including heated sports seats, a curved infotainment display, and driver-assistance features—make the 2025 2-series Gran Coupe feel less like an entry model.
A driver-oriented curved display featuring a 10.3-inch information screen and a 10.7-inch gauge cluster. iDrive 9 infotainment software with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. 12-speaker Harman/Kardon premium sound system comes standard, as does wireless device charging.
BMW claims that rear-seat legroom is nearly the same as the larger 3-series sedan 2-series Gran Coupe’s small cargo area
