I’ve never understood why people say they are sad or reluctant to sell a car, but then list it anyway. Until now. I am very fond of this car, but have a bunch of other ones and don’t drive this car enough. I really don’t want to sell it, nor do I need to, but the idea of putting it in storage for a couple of years until I have occasion to drive it more regularly seems stupid, and honestly these cars need to be driven or weird stuff starts happening to them.

Disclaimer – I am not going to sell it to someone unless I feel that they understand how neat this car (and rare) that they will take good care of it. If you are going to boost it to the moon and/or beat on it, please don’t contact me. I am going to do my level best to get this car in to the hands of an enthusiast who will care for it and appreciate it.

With that off my chest, I am selling my 2007 Volvo V70R with 1514xx miles on it. Located near Harrisburg PA. Miles may go up a bit.

Photos – Many photos here

Ownership – I am the 2nd owner. I purchased it from the original owner, on this site, in 2022.

Carfax – Its wrong with respect to ownership which the records I have going back to new to prove that. There was an “accident” reported in 2011. This resulted in 2 bent wheels. I have documentation. All the VINs are present, and this didnt stop me from buying the car nor should it stop you.

Records – I have EVERY record since new, and there are a lot of them. Its been well taken care of, and a lot of parts have been replaced (trans valve body, electronic modules, dampers, brake booster, etc etc) A summary of the service history can be viewed here.

Condition

Exterior – The car looks great. The panels are straight with no dents other than a little dimple on the fuel filler cover. There are a couple small scratches that are present in the photo album. No paint fading. The roof and rear bumper repainted early on it its life when the roof rack fell off somehow (my guess is operator error). The front bumper was repainted too at some point.

The underbody (many pics in the album) has rust on the control arms and various bolts and nuts, but the body itself is great (amazing undercoating on these V70s).
Interior – Good shape, no weird leather wear or stains or cuts. There are a few small scratches on the plastics around the drivers seat. I had the front seats reconditions by the local Volvo dealers leather guy. They werent that bad (no cracking) but I wanted them to look newer without the coloring coming off the drivers bolster as is so common on leather seats. The seats look great, IMO.

It has the built in factory car seats. If you have kids, these are the best. Second to heated seats, they are the best option in a car, like ever.

Everything works. No lights. Adaptive suspension works great.

The transmission – The well known weak point in these cars, works really well in this one. Its awesome because I spent something like $4000 having the defective valve body replaced with the updated Volvo part by a well respected shop (Integrity Automotive) in central PA. My writeup on that here.

Tires – fronts are fine w 25k miles, rears will need to be replaced soon. They passed PA inspection recently but have significant inner edge wear from camber.

Brakes – Good condition with plenty of remaining pad. Recently serviced.

Turbo – The turbo appears to be seeping oil. The well respected shop above inspected it and said not to mess with it as its the “normal” amount of oil seepage. Its documented in the maintenance invoices.

Modifications

The car has never been tuned.

The original owner added IPD swaybars and endlinks, IPD strut tower mounts, and IPD turbo control valve (to help deliver consistent but not higher than stock boost pressure), and the IPD R model intake kit (a hose from the fog light to the airbox for more airflow). The car comes with the original turbo control valve.

The car has an apple carplay head unit. It works great. It has a remote which i have never used. The original head unit is not available.

The head unit has a backup camera, which works great but evidently installing the head unit meant the rear parking sensors were disabled.

The car has yellow fog lights which are frankly amazing.

I added the factory 3rd row seat to the car for my kids (who used about 2x). This is a bolt in affair as the mount points are in the chassis.

Maintenance

Full summary here

The records speak for themselves. Much maintenance was done and much money was spent with no shortcuts.

Other stuff –

Comes with factory roof rack

And a Volvo Pet barrier

An extra hatch with the handling/locking mechanism from the donor car for the 3rd row seat. I didnt bother to transfer the mechanism so it can be opened from the inside.

And all the interior stuff removed to put in the 3rd row seat.

Price –

$10,500
