Bought a Porsche and having two old European project cars in my life is too much, so putting my 850R up for sale.

Currently at about 188k miles, I’m currently daily driving it and regularly commute from San Francisco to San Jose. I’ve driven it from SF up to Portland and down to LA and it’s never had any issues or missed a beat. AC works, heat works, sunroof works, central locking works, etc. I bought it three years ago from the second owner of 20+ years and have invested tons of time and money into it, and have a folder of about $20k in receipts to back it up.

Car will come with all receipts, a factory Volvo Thule roof rack with locks, multiple bins of spare parts, three sets of keys, and anything else I can find to go with it.

Maintenance:

  • Timing belt service just completed in January with new water pump, tensioner, and pulleys at 187,047 miles

  • Replaced all 4 wheel bearings
  • Full PCV system replacement

  • New outer engine mount, transmission torque mount, and engine torque mounts
  • Rebuilt front brake calipers installed with 302mm brackets (also Stoptech stainless front hoses)

  • New battery and Bosch starter
  • New front tires last month, rear tires done 2 years ago and still fine on tread
  • Previous owner replaced alternator and AC compressor
  • Almost definitely more stuff I’m forgetting.

Do keep in mind it’s a 28 year old Volvo with 188k. It’s a great 10-footer, but it has dings, dents, and scratches. Various parts of the car have been repainted at various times. A good PDR guy and paint correction/detail would do wonders. All of the wheels are straight but have been curbed and need refinishing. The interior is in surprisingly good shape but being an old Volvo the dash still squeaks and rattles, various plastic trim is cracked or broken, etc. The dash was flocked in the past to cover up some warping and cracks and it looks OK but I was hoping to find a better dash top from a junkyard car (can swap in about 20 minutes, easy job thankfully). The keyless entry fobs don’t work and I haven’t bothered to troubleshoot them.
