Imagine if Porsche made a car with the experience and fizz of a GT2 with the usability and comfort of a Turbo.
Ask any passionate Porsche collector or enthusiast about their favorite model, and you’ll likely hear two names come up most often: the 911 GT2 and 911 Turbo. While these icons sit at opposite ends of the performance spectrum, they both embody Porsche’s relentless pursuit of precision and speed. Bringing together the best of both worlds and creating something truly incredible, this Porsche 911 GT2 Tribute looks the part while maintaining some characteristics from its past life. Built with the intention on creating the “GT2 Touring” that Porsche never engineered, this example focuses on delivering the comfort and usability of a 911 Turbo with the styling and authenticity of the most desirable GT car.

Originally imported into Japan from the factory through the team at Mizwa Motors, the 1995 Porsche 911 Turbo began its life as a factory-built example before being meticulously transformed into a 993 GT2 Tribute using OEM parts directly from the manufacturer. Part of a private collection, the first owner began upgrading the 911 Turbo with a factory Porsche GT2 widebody kit. The build quickly continued after the current owner took delivery, sourcing meticulous upgrades from Porsche like revised gearing, a GT2 intercooler, OEM suspension, and extremely rare period-correct Speedline wheels.

Broad Arrow/Vintage Shogun Group and Cars USA helped bring the car stateside for the current owner, who continues to preserve its story by sharing it with the car community around the country at events. Over the years, the 993 GT2 Tribute has made waves in the Porsche scene, earning awards like Best in Show at Radwood 2024 and a Class Award at The Amelia Island Concours alongside icons like a black Ferrari F50 and triple white Lamborghini Countach. It has also been featured at Porsche Rennsport Reunion 7 and Werks Reunion, cementing itself as a well-known build among the Porsche world and its enthusiasts.

As if it couldn’t be any more of a unique build already, a factory Paint-to-Sample Iris Blue Metallic finish makes this GT2 Tribute the ultimate Porsche build. The factory GT2 widebody gives it the aggressive stance of a track star, and every detail has been carefully considered—from the GT2 uprights and adjustable control arms to the imported Rest of World (ROW) GT OEM lighting, including headlights, taillights, fog lights, and turn signals. To keep the exterior pristine for years, the car underwent a full paint correction, followed by paint protection film (PPF) and ceramic coating.

Inside, the cabin keeps the lightweight GT2 spirit alive with some thoughtful and tasteful upgrades. A GT2 steering wheel and shifter keep things driver-focused, while Porsche sport hardback seats with matching Iris Blue backs add a bespoke touch. A Becker CR210 stereo with Bluetooth brings period-correct looks with modern usability, and a Focal speaker and amplifier improves the audio quality. The car also comes with some rare accessories, including a Porsche Classic owner’s bag, a Japan-only Purple “VIP” light, and a GT2 lightweight wheel jack. The numbers-matching status is verified by a Porsche Classic Technical Certificate, giving the build an extra layer of authenticity.

Hidden underneath the rear aero, the car is driven by the 911 Turbo’s original factory engine with some extra Porsche factory upgrades. The engine has been fully refreshed with OEM GT2 turbos and hardware, an OEM GT2 intercooler, and a GT2 exhaust. A short-throw shifter with a golden rod makes for the engaging drive of a classic 911, while the ECU has been remapped for variable boost using GT OEM mapping. On the low end, it makes an impressive 420 horsepower, while the peak power of this setup is around 550 horsepower. Despite all these GT2-inspired upgrades, it still retains its AWD setup and Turbo VIN, making it a unique, usable, and thrilling tribute to one of Porsche’s most legendary models.
