Now on AutoHunter is this 1973 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray coupe. It’s powered by a rebuilt and 0.060-overbored LS4 Turbo-Jet 454ci big-block V8, which is connected to a four-speed manual gearbox. Finished in yellow over a black leather interior, this C3 Corvette is now offered by the seller with a clear, mileage-exempt title.
The body was originally Corvette Blue/Green Metallic, but has been refinished in yellow. Exterior features include a body-color front bumper, pop-up headlights, a cowl-induction hood, body-color mirror caps and removable roof panels, and a two-piece chrome rear bumper.
This third-generation Vette rides on a set of 15 Rally wheels and 235/60 front and 255/60 rear Cooper Cobra Radial G/T raised-white-letter tires.
There’s room for two in the cockpit’s black leather bucket seats. It comes furnished with faux woodgrain trim and equipped with power windows and steering, a tilt steering column, a Delco AM/FM radio, and a center console. The seller notes the air conditioning has been converted to run R-134a refrigerant.
Instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, 7,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, water temperature, oil pressure, and battery. The odometer reads 42,372 miles.
Under the front-hinged hood is an LS4 Turbo-Jet 454ci big-block V8. As part of a 2022 rebuilt, it was bored 0.060 over and fitted with COMP Cams upgrades that include the camshaft, timing chain and gear set, and lifters. Other parts include a four-barrel carburetor and magnesium rocker arms. According to the seller, the engine now produces “well over 400” horsepower; it roars through a pair of side pipes. The four-speed manual transmission received a new clutch in June 2023.
The enhanced engine transmits its output through a Positraction limited-slip differential. Power four-wheel disc brakes keep it under control.
