The electric vehicle (EV) market is evolving rapidly. There are nearly twice as many 7-seat electric SUVs available to buy this year as there were last year. Next year will likely bring even more options for those looking for an all-electric family SUV. Right now, there are 10 all-electric 3-row, 7-seat SUVs on the market, with two more due later this year. To help you find the right one for you, we’ve sorted them by price, starting with the least expensive including the cost of a third row where it’s optional. Prices include the destination charge but not other fees like tax, title, and license. Any potential federal or state EV incentives were not factored into the pricing below.

1. 2025 Tesla Model Y

The most mainstream electric 3-row SUV on the market for 2025 isn’t a 3-row SUV by default, but when properly equipped, the 2025 Tesla Model Y can seat up to seven people. Look for the Long Range All-Wheel Drive trim level but not the “New Model Y” version, and add the $2,000 third-row option. However, with just 26.5 inches of legroom, the folks in the third row should be on the smaller side. The second-row legroom is much roomier at 41.6 inches.

2. 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQB
Starting price: $54,200
Price with 7-passenger seating: $55,450
No, your eyes are not deceiving you; the 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQB is, in fact, the second-most affordable 3-row electric SUV on the market. As with the Model Y, the third row is optional in the EQB, but the EQB’s 29.1 inches of legroom is nearly three inches more than the Tesla. The EQB also offers 22 cubic feet of cargo space with the third row folded.

3. 2025 Kia EV9

Futuristic looks and attractive pricing are the first impressions of the 2025 Kia EV9. Closer inspection reveals a spacious cabin throughout, with up to 32 inches of legroom in the third row when fitted with second-row captain’s chairs or 30.8 inches of third-row legroom with the standard 7-seat layout. The EV9 also offers lots of cargo space, with 20.2 cubic feet behind the third row and 43.5 cubic feet behind the second row.

4. 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz

The iconic Volkswagen Minibus of the 1960s and 1970s is back — sort of. This time around, the 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz is all-electric, and unlike the original’s affordable pricing, the new one starts north of $60,000 and runs upward of $70,000 fully loaded. The ID. Buzz is available exclusively with a 3-row arrangement in the U.S., offering 2-3-2 seating by default or 2-2-2 seating when equipped with optional second-row captain’s chairs. The ID. Buzz has 18.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, 75.5 cubic feet behind the second, and a massive 145.5 cubic feet behind the first row with the second-row seats folded and the third-row seats removed.

5. 2025 Rivian R1S

Stylish, with huge range and real off-road ability, the 2025 Rivian R1S is a do-it-all 3-row SUV. All R1S models come with three rows by default. The R1S’s seating, arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration, is spacious in all rows, with 41.4, 36.6, and 32.8 inches of legroom in the first, second, and third rows. The R1S also offers 17.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row or 48.6 cubic feet behind the second row.

6. 2025 Volvo EX90

An all-new model, the 2025 Volvo EX90 takes the lessons learned from the successful XC90 SUV and applies them to the all-electric realm. The result is a high-tech and safety-forward electric SUV that’s also surprisingly spacious. The EX90 offers 31.9 inches of third-row legroom, with 40.9 and 36.5 inches in the first and second rows. Total cargo space is also good at 12.9 cubic feet behind the third row and up to 67.6 cubic feet with both rear rows folded.

7. 2025 Tesla Model X

Lots of range, Falcon doors, good safety scores — there’s a lot to like about the Tesla Model X. It’s not the roomiest 3-row electric SUV around, but it does come with three rows by default, with the choice of second-row captain’s chairs that cut the seating total to six. The Model X’s third-row legroom is pretty good, and there are 15 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row.

8. 2025 Lucid Gravity

With deliveries due later this year, but orders open now for the Grand Touring model, the 2025 Lucid Gravity promises a different take on a luxury 3-row electric SUV. Lucid’s brand image is centered around big range, plenty of power, and sleek looks, and the Gravity embodies all three. The third row is optional in the Gravity, with only a 7-passenger configuration. Detailed specs on legroom, cargo volume, and more are expected closer to sales launch, but Lucid has revealed the Gravity can hold up to 120 (or 115 in 7-seater) cubic feet of cargo volume.

9. 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is only the second-most expensive 3-row electric SUV if you don’t count its top-spec model, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV. Either way, the EQS SUV is an opulent, comfortable, and high-tech people mover. It’s also spacious, with 31 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row or 74.2 cubic feet with the second row folded flat. With the optional third row up, however, there is just 6.8 cubic feet of cargo space. The second row’s legroom of 41.3 inches is roomy, and the 32-inch third row isn’t bad, either.

10. 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ

Three-row seating for seven occupants is standard in the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ. Despite the name, the Escalade IQ isn’t just an electric version of the standard Escalade. Instead, it’s an entirely new vehicle designed to be an EV from the ground up. The result is a luxurious and spacious SUV with 45.2 inches of legroom up front, 41.3 inches in the second row, and 32.3 inches in the third row. The Escalade IQ can hold 23.6 cubic feet of cargo behind the third row, 69.1 cubic feet behind the second, or up to 119.1 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded flat.

2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9

Seating capacity: 6-7
Due in the first half of 2025, the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9 is the brand’s first 3-row electric SUV. By default, it comes with 7-passenger seating but comes with second-row captain’s chairs for 6-person seating in the Limited and Calligraphy trims. Legroom is generous in the first and second rows at 41.4 and 42.8 inches, respectively. The Ioniq 9’s third row offers 32 inches of legroom. Hyundai says the Ioniq 9 holds 21.9 cubic feet of cargo behind the third row or 46.7 cubic feet behind the second row. Range, MPGe, and pricing information haven’t yet been announced.
2026 Cadillac Vistiq
Starting price: $78,890
Seating capacity: 6-7
As an all-new model, the 2026 Cadillac Vistiq will go on sale in the summer of 2025. Seating for up to seven occupants is standard equipment, or you can opt for a 6-passenger layout with second-row captain’s chairs. The Vistiq’s third-row legroom of 30.6 inches is good but not great, but the first and second rows are roomier at 43.1 and 40.2 inches, respectively. If you’re looking for cargo space, the Vistiq promises 15.2 cubic feet behind the third row, 43 cubic feet behind the second, or 80.2 behind the front.
